Pen drawing dedicated to Pauline, a very talented DA color artist and a really nice person! I first noticed her work on ZZ, she has a really unique and cool looking style of doing portraits. The majority of pen drawings I do are usually small portraits or half and full bodies. This is my attempt at a much bigger portrait which fills the page. It's alot harder in my opinion, I used many layers of pen on her skin to get the right look. Bigger chance of a mistake on her face which can't be erased so I tried to be very careful with this. I couldn't shade to hard or too bright, I had to keep a controlled balance inbetween! I admit I found it really annoying but I kept at it! I don't think I will attempt a big close up pen portrait any time soon after this one but it was nice to try after such a long time. Photo taken using digicam. Skin layers are much more noticable in the actual drawing.
